1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how ANEA LLC, doing business as NVH Lab (“we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, and shares your information when you use our mobile application and website (nvhlab.com). NVH Lab is a specialized acoustic measurement tool for automotive diagnostics.

2. Information We Collect

To provide our services, we collect the following:

  • Personal Information: Name and email address, provided during account creation.
  • Acoustic Data: Sound pressure levels (dB), frequency spectrums (FFT), and raw 10-second audio recordings used for NVH analysis.
  • Device Information: Device model and microphone specifications to apply correct hardware calibration curves.
  • Location & Speed Data: GPS-derived coordinates used strictly for session categorization. Never shared in public feeds or profiles.
  • Usage & Analytics Data: Feature interactions, session activity, and diagnostic information to improve app performance and reliability.
  • Local Storage: We store your consent preferences and authentication session on your device. Optional analytics storage is disabled until you choose “Allow analytics” and can be disabled again from Privacy settings.

3. How We Use Your Data

We process data to provide the service, maintain reliability, synchronize your garage where enabled, and generate privacy-protected community aggregates. The applicable legal basis can depend on the feature and jurisdiction.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with essential service providers:

  • Supabase — Database, authentication, and file storage (AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS in transit).
  • Sentry — Error monitoring for application stability (strips personal data from crash reports).
  • MapLibre — Map rendering for session visualization (no user data sent to external servers).
  • Google Analytics — Optional website usage and performance measurement, loaded only after analytics consent. Advertising storage and personalization remain disabled.

Private recordings are strictly isolated via Row-Level Security (RLS). Location data is stored in a separate, access-controlled table. Each third-party provider is contractually bound to provide data protection standards equivalent to those described in this policy. Their respective privacy policies can be reviewed at: Supabase, Sentry, and MapLibre and Google.

5. Social Privacy & Data Isolation

Public social surfaces (Global Feed, Clubs, Profiles) are strictly prohibited from displaying GPS coordinates, maps, or speed-based location markers. Recordings are private by default. Sharing with the community requires explicit opt-in.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to:

  • Access — Request a copy of your personal data.
  • Rectification — Correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure — Delete your account and all associated data via Profile settings.
  • Portability — Receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Restriction — Limit how we process your data.
  • Objection — Object to processing based on legitimate interest.

To exercise any right, contact us at contact [at] nvhlab.com. We respond within 30 days. You may also disable specific permissions (such as location or microphone access) at any time through your device settings, though this may limit certain app features.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained while your account is active. Upon deletion, your profile, vehicles, and private recordings are permanently purged within 30 days. Accounts inactive for 24 months may be automatically removed. To maintain the integrity of aggregate benchmarks, anonymized measurement data that cannot be traced back to you may be retained.

8. International Data Transfers

Your data is processed by Supabase and other approved service providers under their applicable hosting and transfer safeguards. Contact us for the current hosting-region and subprocessors information.

9. Children's Privacy
